THAXTON ELEMENTARY GIFTED PROGRAM

 

     Thaxton Elementary School has gifted services to identify students in the areas of language arts and mathematics. Students meet once per week on Tuesdays, for one hour of mathematics, and one hour for language arts. There are seven identified students at Thaxton.

     The goal at Thaxton is to provide an academically challenging curriculum in which students may excel. Instruction is based on students' strengths and interests, integrated with the SOLS.

     The Gifted Education Program requires students to take responsibility for working independently and to be organized. It is such a pleasure to work with such outstanding students.
