Students have been busy working on SOL objectives, and IEP goals. Some of the areas covered include:
Place value, telling time with an analog clock, reviewing the calander, adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing fractions, cross multiplying, finding the mean, medium, and mode, prime and composite numbers, even and odd numbers, using the number line, comparing numbers to determine less than, greater than, and equal to, patterns, and adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing whole numbers.
This nine weeks students will round decimals, compute decimals and whole numbers, express fractions as decimals, and begin geometry.
Students have practiced using the calculator, and they often use manipulatives, and fun games to help them remember concepts.
I do not typically assign homework for this class, but if you want your child to have some extra practice material for home, please let me know.
My plan period is from 9:30a.m. to 10:20a.m., and you may call me at 297-4152 or email me at pchittum@bedford.k12.va.us
