Earth Science- Freshman course (SOL course)
This course curriculum is state guided through the the Virginia Standards of Learning. In the spring of 2009 this class will participate in SOL testing.
The four parts of the curriculum are: geology; meteorology; oceanography; and astronomy.
Earth Science II: Astronomy- Sophomore/Jr. Level
This course is based on the curriculum of ES I, but will have a higher concentration on Astronomy, thus it will be taught at a higher level than its Freshman counterpart. It is an elective course and will not have an SOL, but may have an end of the year assessment on the overall covered material for the year (tbd).
The first semester will cover topics of geology, meteorology, and oceanography. The second semester will cover astronomy.
